No shoes, no stadiums, no problem? After spending an impressive 15 of the past 16 years on tour, Kenny Chesney is slamming on the brakes in the upcoming year. The country legend is planning on taking a massive step back from his hectic schedule, with plans to perform his biggest hits for one weekend only in his lone stadium event of the year.
Chesney will play Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on August 25-26, alongside recent CMA winners Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion, for a special one-time event. Though he is committed to performing in a number of music festivals next year, including Stagecoach and Country Jam, it’s rare for Chesney (or any artist) to perform a headlining concert at just one major venue with no subsequent tour dates listed. This surely gives the show plenty of hype and eager participation by Chesney’s wide fanbase, affectionately known as No Shoes Nation, a name he fittingly birthed at a Gillette Stadium gig in 2013.
The entertainer has had a busy 2016. In addition to headlining the Spread the Love tour across North America, he also released his sixteenth studio album Cosmic Hallelujah, which became his eleventh album to reach the top of the charts. Last month he was named the recipient of the Country Music Association’s Pinnacle Award for his monumental success in both ticket and record sales. Chesney joins fellow music superstars Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift as the only three artists to have received the honor.
Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss out on this opportunity to see one of country music’s biggest men in 2017!
