J. Cole Lands Entire New Album on Billboard’s Hot 100

Popular hip-hop artist J. Cole impressed the world with his new album 4 Your Eyez Only. All ten of the album’s songs have secured spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the week, which practically ensures success for the future of this album. Shockingly enough however, this album marks the first time that J. Cole’s name has appeared on Billboard’s Top 10. But he ended the year strong seeing as he landed the third-largest debut of 2016 next to Beyoncé, and Drake.

Other than just appearing on the Billboard charts, this album also takes the crown as having the second-largest streaming debut for an album ever. These numbers are calculated by using a method which combines overall sales, streams and radio play. While people often buy an album on ITunes, or in a store, these numbers are important to gauge the albums popularity online. With a calculation of 176.9 million streams, it’s no surprise that the whole album made an appearance on the charts.
