Weekly Artist Spotlight: Zedd

In an era where electro pop music is dominated by the likes of The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and David Guetta, it’s easy for other DJs to get lost in the mix. That seemed to be the case for one particular producer who has consistently been in the fray but not quite in the soaking up the spotlight. Until now.

You may not know Russian-born DJ Zedd by name or face, but you’ve surely heard his work before. The 27-year-old has already won a Grammy Award, produced records for both Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, not to mention he has a slew of Top 40 hits to his name, including “Clarity” featuring Foxes, “Stay the Night” featuring Hayley Williams, and “I Want You to Know” featuring Selena Gomez. On top of these tracks off Zedd’s first two studio albums, the talented DJ gained further recognition for his collaborations with current pop princesses Ariana Grande (“Break Free”) and Hailee Steinfeld (“Starving”).

Now, add more chart success and two of this summer’s hottest dance tracks to his portfolio, along with notable festival appearances and upcoming tour finds Zedd quickly becoming a major force to be reckoned with. His recent single “Stay” featuring Alessia Cara climbed all the way to no. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it his highest-performing song to date. The European DJ has also teamed up with One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne for the sexy, club-ready summer banger “Get Low,” which dropped today to worldwide enthusiasm.

Zedd joins the lineups of a versatile collection of music festivals in the coming weeks, including Float Fest, Chasing Summer Electronic Music Festival, Summer Set Fest, Billboard Hot 100 Festival and Electric Zoo Fest. These high-energy gigs are the perfect way to kick off his Echo Tour, which takes him to the hottest clubs and music halls across North America starting September 29 in Vancouver.
