Kenny Chesney plots return to stadiums with Trip Around the Sun Tour

Get ready, No Shoes Nation. Kenny Chesney has unveiled plans for his Trip Around the Sun tour next summer, which will bring him to 18 major U.S. stadiums from April through August.

The country star announced the tour on his Twitter page, along with a video where he playfully lists each of the venues he’ll play by wearing the football helmet of each stadium’s home NFL team.

Chesney will kick off the tour April 21 in Tampa before hitting major cities like Minneapolis, Atlanta, Phoenix, Chicago, and Seattle among others. The summer’s final show is slated to be at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on August 24.

The upcoming tour marks a return to extensive touring for Chesney, who scaled back on performances this year. Aside from making various festival appearances, the singer opted for only one stadium gig all year and treated fans to a successful pair of weekend shows at Gillette Stadium.

Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett and Brandon Lay will join the “Setting the World on Fire” singer on the road.
