Macklemore and Kesha team up for co-headlining tour

Kesha and Macklemore are joining forces for an adventure: their own co-headlining tour. The two stars unveiled plans for The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore tour in a video announcement, released today.

The tour will hit North American 30 cities next summer, with the fun kicking off June 6 in Phoenix. Stops on the itinerary include arenas and amphitheaters in Las Vegas, Nashville, Austin, Miami and Cincinnati. A July 16 show in Toronto will serve as the lone Canadian gig.

Both artists endured major musical milestones this year with the release of their latest albums. Kesha’s Rainbow earned her high praise upon its August release, with many noting a more mature sound from the girl who was once notorious for her party anthems. The LP marked Kesha’s first album after a five-year hiatus spent in the turmoil of a legal battle against her former music producer Dr. Luke for alleged physical and emotional abuse. Many fans saw Rainbow as an uplifting symbol of Kesha’s freedom from the chains of the music industry giant.

Macklemore also experienced a sense of freedom with his new album Gemini, which credits him as a solo artist after achieving mainstream success with longtime collaborator Ryan Lewis. The rapper got help from a number of other artists on the album, with notable guest features including Lil Yachty, Skylar Grey, Offset and Kesha.
